TRANSMISSION

Last week of school and I couldn't be happier, that is, until exams are over. I've been reading a lot of blogs lately some of which the authors are known to me and some that are not. The point is, I really love the idea of blogs because they create a forum for your own thoughts, ideas, interests, and inspirations. Furthermore, by having anonymous persons and friends read your blog, it somehow validates your owns ideas and encourages you to create more. It's comforting to know that your own information will be transferred to others and not lost within the abyss of your sub-conscious.

TIGHTS PT. 2

Has anyone ever bleach tye-dyed before? I think I shall try this today with my black tights. There will be pictures of the results to follow.

Taking the tight trend to the next level, hah.

LEGGINGS AS PANTS

It's too hot for jeans and I finding skirts non-conducive to biking. I've held out on the legging trend for years now. I thought it would be over by now. I found it amazing the young women were now rocking the same look my mom has sported for years . It has only been this past summer that I have worn leggings in the current fashion and I'll admit, they are tres comfortable, tres easy, and yes, they seem to go with anything...

However, even if you possess a pair of thick, stretchy tights, it seems that once doubled over on a bicycle, the gleaming sun shines through your leggings and gives the downtown area a show. You may ask, "But why not wear long shirts with your tights to avoid this risque affair?" As I said, I've held out on the legging trend for years and if I am to go this route, I would rather wear them loud and proud as pants, rather than some easy slap'n'go ensemble. (Though I do love the lounge wear.)

And so, I hunt for a thick pair of leggings to masquerade as pants this season.

AGNES MARTIN

Back from Tofino, caught up on Fbook today. A friend had a link to Agnes Martin. This image is called The Sea (2003). I love extremes. Either explosions of colour and pattern, or minimal lines and colours.

For me, this image is perfection of the latter. I could go into great detail about the piece but I think I'll let it stand on it's own. It's certainly strong enough.
Thanks Maria.

THE NECK BIG THING

Turtleneck that is.

This fall, they'll be making a come-back. If not from your mom's 1993-1996 wardrobe, then at least from my Village des Valeurs raiding of all the ones she consigned.

They could be so cute! Take your fave onesie from the summer. Throw a t-neck underneath it with some opaque leggings, et voila! You have updated yet another piece synonymous with high-wasted jeans and scrunchies!

Plus, they are cheap cheap cheap like a chicken and in these trying times, with this economic situation, when money is tigh... (wait, it's called, being a student) inexpensive pieces are a welcomed addition to my wardrobe.

Take the turtleneck and run! (Or maybe in this case, crawl.)
